The company will work together with the Spanish Association of Women in Energy (AEMENER) to enhance the role of women in the energy sector through training.
The agreement focuses on three main objectives that seek to promote different initiatives that help position and elevate female talent in areas such as technology, science, mathematics and engineering.
X-ELIO has a strong commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, and through this agreement, they will drive new goals linked to SDG 5 on gender equality and female empowerment.
Madrid, 22 September 2021. – X-ELIO, a leading global company specialising in the development, operation and maintenance of sustainable energy projects, has signed a collaboration agreement with AEMENER (Spanish Association of Women in Energy) focused on promoting the role of women in the energy sector and, specifically, in the field of renewable energies. Through this agreement, both companies will focus on three specific objectives: promoting knowledge and training among women of different age ranges in terms of projects, initiatives and new developments in the sector; the development of different collaboration tools and activities; and the coordination and organisation of different forums to continue to position the role of women in this sector.
This new initiative highlights X-ELIO’s commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and, specifically, to SDG 5 based on gender equality and female empowerment. The energy company shares interests and objectives with this association created in 2017, as both firms seek to ensure that the presence of women in all companies in the sector is balanced and for their teams to be diverse and equal. Thus, the main objective of this non-profit collaboration is based on promoting the female vocation in areas that currently have a much higher male presence, such as technology, science, mathematics and engineering.
This partnership has been developed within the framework of the “X-ELIO Agora Thrive” initiative, where collaborating volunteers, own employees from the firm, seek for actions, alliances and programmes to promote diversity, inclusion, communication and talent, both internally and externally in the firm.
This action has been specifically developed under the umbrella of the Diversity & Inclusion team, whose group sponsor is the CFO of X-ELIO, David Diaz. Congratulations to the entire team, headed by two representatives with great dedication, Sara Rodríguez and Sandra Pinillos.
