X-ELIO puts into operation its first Mexican plant

X-Elio has put into operation a 74MW photovoltaic (PV) power plant in Mexico’s Guanajuato state.

This is the first X-Elio plant to become operational  in Mexico, where the Company has an installed capacity close to 600 MW 

The plant will have a significant effect on the region’s economy, generating 30 direct operation and maintenance jobs as well as 868 direct and indirect jobs it created during the construction phase of the plant – which was carried out by Grupo Avanzia in 12 months

Madrid, 26th November 2018. X-Elio, the leading global developer of photovoltaic solar energy with presence in five continents, has finished the construction of the photovoltaic (PV) power plant in Mexico’s Guanajuato state. In this way, the plant has gone into operation becoming X-Elio’s first functioning plant in the country.

This installation has a capacity of 74MW. In total, X-Elio has a 600MW project portfolio in the Mexican market with fixed prices, demonstrating the Spanish Company’s strong commitment towards Mexico’s growth and development.

The plant will have a significant effect on the region’s economy, generating 30 direct operation and maintenance jobs. Furthermore, 868 direct and indirect jobs were created during the 12 months of the construction phase, which was executed by Grupo Avanzia.

X-Elio has a remarkable capacity to develop new business. The Guanajuato Project has been developed entirely by the X-Elio team, demonstrating the Company’s strong potential. Besides this plant, X-Elio plans to put into operation other installations in Mexico throughout 2019 and 2020.

For the Guanajuato Project, the Company has invested USD71 million. In order to finance this plant and other projects in X-Elio’s portfolio, there was a syndicate composed of financial institutions, including multilateral development banks and local banks.
