Alicante, 25 March 2024. X-ELIO, the global leader in the development of renewable energies, today announced its collaboration with the Villena Volleyball Club, a sports association that, in addition to promoting volleyball at a local level, also works to promote diversity and inclusion as an essential part of its philosophy. The energy company and the sports club have been working together since the end of 2023 to implement different social initiatives for the town. As a result of this collaboration agreement, X-ELIO will be the club’s new sponsor.
Through its Community Plan, X-ELIO promotes actions related to sport, education, health and the environment that have a direct impact on the lives of the local residents in the areas where it operates. As a result, the company has promoted a collaboration agreement with the Villena Volleyball Club. The club, which has a rich sporting tradition since its foundation in 1992, is also actively involved in fostering the well-being of Villena’s society.
Since the start of this collaboration a few weeks ago, workshops have been held with the associations AMIF and APADIS, which seek to promote equality and acceptance of people with physical and mental disabilities. At these events, the club’s day-to-day activities were explained to the people with whom both associations work. Another initiative promoted as a result of this collaboration has been the launch of the Minivoley programme, with the aim of promoting healthy habits and, specifically, encouraging the consumption of fruit among the club’s children and young people.
In the sports field, it should be noted that X-ELIO will be the new sponsor of the Superliga 1 team this season, which currently plays in the Volleyball Honor Division. On the other hand, the company will also facilitate the purchase of sports equipment to ensure the optimal development of athletes and players of all categories.
This collaboration adds to several initiatives that the company has already deployed in the municipality. It is worth highlighting the “intelligent beehives” project with IES Navarro Santafé, the sponsorship of the Villena Football Club and the creation of a team for people with functional diversity.
