Madrid, 13th December 2022. – X-ELIO, a leading global company specialized in the development, operation, financing, and maintenance of renewable and sustainable energy projects, has recently signed a collaboration agreement with the Francisco Paradas school in Medina de las Torres, in the province of Badajoz. As part of its Community Plan Program, focused on bringing social and economic value to the regions where it operates, the company will donate 100 books carefully selected by the Atenea bookshop in Zafra, to be used by the school’s students.

To promote this initiative, yesterday, Monday 12th December, a storytelling event was held for all the students at the school under the theme of equality and inclusion. The event was attended by Jaime Fernandez, X-ELIO’s representative in Extremadura, together with Dulcenombre de María, Director of Studies at Francisco Paradas School, and Isaac Rodríguez, Councillor for Culture, Youth and Education of Medina de las Torres.

This initiative promoted by X-ELIO is part of its commitment to Extremadura and, more specifically, its commitment to the town of Medina de las Torres where, in June 2021, they began the construction of three solar photovoltaic plants, for which an investment of almost 100 million euros was made. Thus, the Los Llanos I, II and III projects, each with 50MW, will generate 100% clean energy and will supply the average energy consumption equivalent to 91,800 homes/year.

This agreement is part of X-ELIO’s Community Plan Program, an initiative that embodies the company’s commitment to the pillars of environment, education, sustainable communities and health. Through this collaboration, X-ELIO aims to create a connection with the community and serve as a tool for social development in this region, as it has done continuously in all other regions where it operates.

Arancha Martínez, Country Manager of X-ELIO in Spain, states “We are firmly committed to the cultural and social development of our communities. At X-ELIO we always seek to add value to the regions in which we operate at all levels, including the education of young people. It is an honour for us to be able to contribute our resources to promote the general welfare of the citizens. We hope to continue to support Medina de las Torres for many years to come.”
