The goal of this agreement is to promote activities aimed at the full inclusion of this group in family, school, work and social life.
The firm collaborates with the Down Madrid Foundation through three areas of action: training, labour integration and business awareness.
Madrid, November 30th, 2021. X-ELIO, a leading global company specialized in the development, operation and maintenance of sustainable energy projects, has signed a collaboration agreement with Down Madrid, a non-profit organisation whose mission is to achieve the individual autonomy of people with Down syndrome or other intellectual disabilities and their full social inclusion. The objective of this collaboration agreement is to promote and carry out all activities aimed at improving the quality of life of people with intellectual disabilities, with special emphasis on those aimed at their full inclusion in family, school, work and social life.
Mutual collaboration will focus mainly on three general areas of action: theoretical and practical training for employment, “in-situ” training; labour integration of people with intellectual disabilities in the ordinary work environment; and raising awareness of the business environment towards the promotion of the employment of people with intellectual disabilities.
This collaboration between the two parties will be carried out through the Stela Employment Service, by which they are committed to the social and labour insertion of people with intellectual disabilities, using the methodology of employment with support, a structured and systematic system of training in the real job, which allows the new worker to acquire the skills, abilities, and knowledge that their job demands. To this end, the Stela employment service will be developed in three phases: a training and job orientation programme, on-the-job training and, finally, job monitoring of the worker and employment tutorials.
Through this collaboration, X-ELIO has hired a person with an intellectual disability, trained at the Stela employment service. In addition, the sustainable energy company also commits, together with the Foundation, to disseminate the results of the integration experience carried out, to promote similar initiatives in the business world. In this way, X-ELIO is set up as a motivating and dynamic agent for the socio-occupational integration of people with intellectual disabilities.
“It is very gratifying for the members of this company to make a contribution to the integration of people with intellectual disabilities through a collaboration like this. We are convinced that the implementation of renewable energies is now more important than ever and that is why we want to make it possible for everyone, without exceptions or obstacles, to participate in this sector and take advantage of all the opportunities it offers. The company will continue to support this type of initiatives so that we can continue to reinforce our commitment to diversity and inclusion in the team and in the communities in which we operate.”
